PATIENT CARE PHILOSOPHY
I believe that the role of physicians is to educate patients and to help them make the best decisions possible regarding their own care. The idea that “physicians know best” and should dictate treatment to patients is archaic. Instead, physicians serve as teachers by educating patients about their diseases and their treatment options and helping patients select the best treatment for their situation.

I focus my clinical practice on patients with cancers of the blood (lymphomas, leukemias, and myeloma), genitourinary cancers (prostate, kidney, bladder, testis), and melanoma. I emphasize to patients the importance of participating in clinical trials whenever possible – both to ensure that they are receiving the most up-to-date, cutting-edge treatments for their diseases and to help advance the field of oncology.
